Moving Intentionally to Heal Naturally

Instinctual Healing is a truly unique approach to therapeutic healthcare that implements deep tissue massage techniques, hydrotherapy, yoga principles, and real-time client feedback to make long lasting constructive change.

What I Provide

Every body contains a unique history that has led to its particular shape and holding patterns, and I utilize every piece of that story to cultivate a completely personal plan of care for every individual that will make the most significant impact for them. In addition to massage techniques, I commit to using every tool in my arsenal to provide the very best care for each person I have the honor of working with, at no additional cost. This can include:

Cupping

Cupping uses suction to stimulate blood flow and break up fascial adhesions.

Steam Packs

Steam packs utilize deeply penetrating heat to relax muscles for deep massage.

Gua Sha

Gua sha tools are scraped along the skin to improve circulation, decrease inflammation, and disrupt tension patterns.

Topical Analgesics

Topical analgesics, such as tiger balm and arnica, can be used to numb painful areas and reduce inflammation.

Appointments at Instinctual Healing can include any or all of these special services at no additional charge. Gratuities are also not accepted, so you can expect to pay exactly what you see on the booking menu. My priority is always centered around what is best for my clients, and I am committed to offering everything at my disposal for the good of those I have the privilege of working with.ย

Specialties

Instinctual Healing goes beyond the benefits of standard massage, and these are just a few of the modalities that set this work apart.

Deep Tissue Massage

I utilize a combination of broad and specific pressure to normalize dysfunctional tissue, treat chronic injuries, and disrupt holding patterns that cause pain and discomfort.

Integrative Massage

This style utilizes a combination of relaxing and therapeutic techniques to regulate the nervous system, normalize postural imbalances, improve flexibility and mobility, and relieve the body from pain.

Intra-Oral TMJ Normalization

This work is ideal for people who are working to resolve issues connected to TMJ dysfunction, headaches, neck mobility issues, tinnitus, whiplash, or any additional held tension in the jaw.

Breathing Optimization

This work aims to optimize the function of all of the breathing accessory muscles and restore proper flow of oxygen to the body. It is ideal for athletes, and those suffering with asthma, bronchitis, or long-term COVID symptoms.

Hello, I'm Kayla

I started my journey in holistic healthcare after I saw how profoundly effective complementary medicine was in the rehabilitation of my best friend after a horrific car accident. Through the use of a regular yoga practice and massage therapy treatments, she went from completely bedridden to performing aerial acrobatics again within only 8 months. With a newfound fascination for complementary healthcare, I received my Yoga Teaching Certification from Soul Tree Yoga in Lafayette, CO. I loved being able to facilitate healing in my clients through the use of mindful and intentional movement and meditation, but desired more of an intimate and collaborative relationship with those I was working with. I further pursued my education at the distinguished Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy, where I found my true calling for offering profoundly healing bodywork. I am a trained practitioner in many massage modalities, such as Swedish, Sports, Hot Rocks, Cupping, and Integrative Massage. While I enjoy offering blissful relaxing massages, I have a special passion for giving therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage and using Myofascial Techniques to treat chronic pain and injuries, and use my background in yoga to inform my treatment plans beyond the massage table. I am looking forward to continuing to grow my expertise in Neuromuscular Therapy and Kinesiology to make the most substantial impact in the rehabilitation of my clients. When I’m not working, I love to keep my body moving in new and creative ways in the form of yoga, rock climbing, hiking, and playing with my dog in the mountains. I love to challenge myself in the kitchen, in the classroom, or with a different medium, and enjoy pursuing new things outside of my comfort zone.

Testimonials

Hear from just a few of the wonderful clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

    Paul

Kayla was awesome. She was very thorough on the intake and asked questions and made sure I was comfortable. She started off slow and increased pressure and checked during the massage. I was so relaxed, I dozed off a couple of times. Which is saying something, because my calves were really tight and she got in there! She truly has a healing touch.

      Jon

Kayla is absolutely amazing and kind person, along with being a true master of her craft. I can genuinely say that she's helped me through a lot of back issues, and I could not recommend her more!

        Lenora

EXCELLENT Massage. I feel so much better. The leg pain is gone and I feel energized. Kayla is intuitive and proficient.

          Kathy

One of the best massages of my life. Kayla was amazing and listen to all my concerns. I left there. Pain-free and revitalized. Iโ€™m booking my next appointment now.
